Chuck Law Featured as Guest Speaker at The American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) Masters Event

Law + Brandmeyer founding partner Chuck Law was featured as a guest speaker at a recent Masters event, sponsored by the Los Angeles Chapter of American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Chuck has the “Advocate” ranking in ABOTA.

The June event focused specifically on opening and closing arguments. During his presentation, Chuck demonstrated a defense opening statement of a jury trial highlighting key strategies. These included techniques to engage the jury’s interest, and previewing weaknesses in the opposing side’s evidence while highlighting the strong evidence in support of the client.

“These seminars are an important element in the ongoing education and professional development of litigators and trial attorneys,” said Chuck. “Staying sharp and remaining current on emerging trends and strategies raises the bar for all of us, setting new standards for best practices within our profession so that the interests of individual litigants are better served.”

The Masters series, attended by over one hundred practicing attorneys, invites well-known trial lawyers throughout Southern California to share their professional experience and seasoned counsel through interactive discussions and demonstrations to address the most relevant trends and issues of the day.

ABOTA’s mission is to improve the ethical and technical standards of practice among legal counselors to better serve their clients and advocate for the administration of justice consistent with time-tested and traditional principles of litigation. Membership in ABOTA requires that the attorney has extensive jury trial experience, impeccable credentials, and the highest ethical standards.
